Join local artist Katie LeCocq in making your own hand sewn journal or sketchbook. We repurpose a variety of paper to build your custom book bound in the Japanese Stab Binding style using items you likely have around your home. Offered in partnership with The Art Studio, the arts education center of New Castle County’s Department of Community Services. Additional fee: Please note that this course requires an additional fee of $37. Participants receive a payment link from OLLI prior to the first class. There is also an additional $8 material fee due to the instructor at the first class.

INSTRUCTORS: Katherine LeCocq, Nicole Sexton
LECOCQ, KATHERINE-Work ranges from the whimsical and playful to staid and evocative representations of the natural world. Painting and drawing since she was a child, her work is rendered in media that include acrylic, pen and ink, charcoal, and watercolor and ranges in size from artist trading cards to full murals. She has exhibited her work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. LeCocq is originally from Seattle, and is now based in Wilmington, Delaware after graduating from Rutgers University’s distinguished Mason Gross School of Fine Arts.
