S – Economics, Finance, Political Science, Law

Graphic of a computer

On-Demand

The 2024 election pits a major-party presidential candidate, older than any in U.S. history, against a younger Black woman who would make history if elected. One candidate is running while convicted of scores of crimes; the other was forced into a shortened campaign when President Biden abruptly withdrew from competition. Students explore the roles of money, news and social media, advertising, public opinion polling and anti-democracy forces. Presented by instructor and former CNN correspondent Ralph Begleiter. Note: This class will necessarily include some partisan political content.

This offering meets for a total of 5 session(s).

INSTRUCTOR: Ralph Begleiter
