All levels are welcome to this five-week gentle introduction to the fundamentals of Qi Gong and Tai Chi. These ancient Chinese practices combine slow, mindful movements with coordinated breathing, energy flow and meditation to promote balance and flexibility, relaxation, and enhanced focus and coordination. You’ll be introduced to popular Qi Gong forms such as Eight Pieces of Brocade (Ba Duan Jin), Shibashi Set 1 and Animal Forms. The course may also include basic movements from the widely practiced Yang 24 form of Tai Chi. Join us for a gentle yet powerful way to improve overall health and well-being. No prior experience is necessary!

KAUPA, BETTE–Retired nurse who enjoys tai chi, stained glass and her animals.

EVANS, MARLENE MARIE– B.S., biology, Waynesburg College; M.A., genetics and biostatistics, University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health; Honeywell Institute, systems analysis; J.D., University of Michigan Law. Music lover, guitarist and tai chi enthusiast. Retired attorney and compliance officer. Former systems engineer and cytogeneticist.
