Every American has a constitutionally protected right to lobby, which nevertheless can be a divisive topic among those in favor and those opposed. This class is a first step in understanding your right to petition the government for redress of grievances. We focus on lobbying that happens from the ground up i.e., grassroots, reviewing examples to see what worked and what didnt, and ask you to deliver a grassroots message to decision-makers affecting your community. This course is intended to inform and educate attendees about the process of grassroots lobbying using a neutral approach. Our materials and discussions neither support nor disparage any specific views or individuals.
