CA – Performing Arts (Appreciation)

Graphic of a computer

Online | July 23, 2024-July 25, 2024

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12:45 PM-2:00 PM

August Wilson chronicled the Black American experience during the 20th century by writing ten plays, each set in a different decade. In our first class, we explore August Wilson’s life and legacy by watching a documentary, The Ground on Which I Stand. The following two classes, we discuss his two Pulitzer Prize winning plays, The Piano Lesson and Fences. The first class may run 15 minutes overtime. Students should read or watch a production of The Piano Lesson and Fences before the second class.

This offering meets for a total of 3 session(s).
