This historical novel, The Women by Kristin Hannah, focuses on the experiences of American Army nurse Frances McGrath during her deployment in Vietnam in 1967. It also follows her return home and re-entry into civilian life at a time when the country was torn apart by generational and social differences, when veterans were not held in high regard.
