The Holocaust, the greatest catastrophe that befell the Jewish people, did not occur in a vacuum or spontaneously. This course explores the rise of the Nazi Party as a consequence of WWI, the emergence of Hitler as Fuhrer, the disenfranchisement, expulsion, ghettoization, and extermination of Europe’s Jews, and the Jewish resistance in the Warsaw and Vilna Ghetto. Class features special emphasis on resistance and the narrative that has not been told.
